The Introscreen

When you start Maxwell, you first get an introscreen.
Here you can choose
1. the screenresolution (minimal 800x600x8 and minimal 800x600x16 for the 3D-animations),
2. between the Dutch and the English version and
3. the output-directory where the data of the laboratory-sessions will be stored.

The Main Menu

Then you see the main menu. In the left bar, you see the date, the time and the sessiontime. You also see a Print-, a Restart- and an Exit-button. Later, also a Back- and a Menu-button will appear.

Here you can select a category. The different categories are: Physical principles, Energy, Sensors, Controllers, Electronics and Composed Systems.

The different categories and submenu's

When you have choosen a category, you see a submenu with all the different laboratories.

Example of a submenu. Here you see the Energy submenu.

Each laboratory consists of 6 main parts:
Principles The principles part is an extension of the course. Some topics are represented in another way by means of animations. It helps to give students another view of the explained topics.
Formulas In the formulas part, an overview of the most interesting formulas is given.
Technology In this part, students get an overview of the technology, the applications and the construction.
Simulations Here, the students can simulate the laboratory or simulate a typical example. Very interactive.
Expert This part is for the more interested students who want to learn more about a topic.
Questions In this part, the students can test their skills.
