Information for students interested in internships

We welcome students to join the ESAT speech group for an internship provided that they have a suitable background and a keen interest in our research activities.

In principle such positions could be open to every one, but in practice there are quite a few constraints. We are limited in the number of internships that we can accommodate at any given moment and in general we need to give preference to students enrolled at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven or one of its the associated institutions. However, slots may still be available for students from other institutions. Also, be aware that it is a general rule that students can not be paid for internship work.

Before proceeding any further, we suggest that you do the following:

• Have a look at current (and past) suggested thesis topics and/or internships in our group
• Browse through the list of projects and/or research activities so that you have an idea of the current work at our lab.
• Be sure that your background is suitable for the work you propose to do; previous exposure to speech processing may not be needed for some of the topics, however, we strongly prefer such backgrounds.
