PASE Forum

The idea to create the PASE forum was born during the PASE'91 workshop held in Zürich in December 1991. The workshop examined new information processing systems for optimization and forecasting which are mathematical and computational challenges. We believe that only new concepts paired with numerically intensive computing are able to solve today's problems in many fields of statitics and economics. These new methods will lead to decision support systems which will become more and more invaluable tools in finding the best solutions to statistical and economical problems. The range and variety of the underlying information processing technologies go far beyond traditional techniques. The new aids to making better decisions are based on techniques as diverse as

In addition the rapid evolution of these algorithmic concepts goes hand in hand with recent developments in computer hardware and software creating a favorable synergy.

will exchange informations based on these new information processing technologies. Informations can be obtained from the World Wide Web

The servers are moderated by Diethelm Würtz from the Swiss Center of Scientific Compting SCSC at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ) in Zürich. Suggestions and contributions for PASE can be send via e-mail to:
